Sources

The rules, figures and flight numbers on the site point back to one of these. The date is when each was last checked.

The flight model and bag analysis are ports of the apps' Swift, so their source is the code itself. The JYLY rules are the app's and the original game's. Manufacturers' flight numbers are facts about their own discs; each catalogue record keeps its maker's page.

The apps

  1. DiscScout: Disc Golf Tracker, SGWNI. Checked 5 November 2026.
  2. Chains - Disc Golf Putting, SGWNI. Checked 5 November 2026.
  3. DiscScout's flight model (FlightModel.swift), SGWNI. Checked 5 November 2026. A visual approximation tuned to published charts, not a physics simulation. Ported to this site unchanged.
  4. DiscScout's bag analysis (BagAnalysis.swift), SGWNI. Checked 5 November 2026. Stability from the landing ratio: < −0.09 overstable, > 0.03 understable, else stable.
  5. JYLY code in Chains (Jyly.swift), SGWNI. Checked 5 November 2026.

JYLY

  1. JYLY, the original web app by Markus Lindqvist, Markus Lindqvist. Checked 5 November 2026. Served over plain HTTP; the HTTPS certificate has expired. Modes: Normal (5–10 m) and Long (11–15 m).
  2. JYLY puttipeli (rules in English), Ikihongat kolajaa. Checked 5 November 2026. Start at 10 m, 5 putts a round, points = makes × distance, 20 rounds, maximum 1,000.

Disc golf rules and ratings

  1. PDGA Official Rules of Disc Golf, 806.01 (the putting area), PDGA. Checked 5 November 2026. Defines a putt as a throw from within 10 m of the target.
  2. Flight ratings system, Innova Discs. Checked 5 November 2026. Each manufacturer rates its own discs; the numbers are not a shared scale.
  3. Discraft flight ratings, Discraft. Checked 5 November 2026.

The catalogue

Each of the 18 manufacturers has its flight-chart or product pages named as the source on the catalogue page and in the data file's records. Numbers are ratings, not measurements, and brands use their own scales.

Corrections

If a source has moved, a number is wrong or a rule has changed, email hello@discscout.app. The site would rather correct a record than keep a citation that no longer says what the page says.
