Questions

My Watch did not record a throw. What should I check?

Open the Watch app on its own, not just the iPhone app, and allow location access for DiscScout. Wait for the watch face to show a location before you mark the start, then mark the landing and let the burst finish. If the session was saved, the throw appears in the iPhone's throw list after iCloud sync.

How accurate is the GPS distance?

Each point averages a burst of readings, which smooths most of the noise. Accuracy still depends on the sky, trees and buildings. A throw measured under heavy cover can be a few metres out; the averaged point is the best estimate the Watch can make.

Why is my data not on my other device?

DiscScout syncs through iCloud. Check that both devices are signed in to the same Apple Account and that DiscScout is allowed to use iCloud in Settings. DiscScout syncs its own CloudKit database; iCloud Drive is not involved. Open the app on both devices and leave them on Wi-Fi for a minute.

How do I restore a purchase?

Open the app's settings and choose Restore purchases. Purchases are tied to the Apple Account that bought them. If the restore finds nothing, check that the device is signed in to the same account.

How do I cancel a subscription?

Apple manages subscriptions, not the app. On iPhone, open Settings → your name → Subscriptions, choose DiscScout and cancel or change the plan. The App Store's account page works too.

Can I change between metres, yards and feet?

Yes. The app stores whole units and converts for display. Distances in the charts and the throw list follow the unit you choose.

How do the real flight numbers work?

Each disc keeps the manufacturer's stock numbers and an optional set of your own. Enter how the disc flies now, then switch between Stock and My numbers; the charts and the coverage grid use the set you choose.

Does DiscScout include a disc catalogue?

No. You type the name, choose a manufacturer from the list and set the numbers. The free catalogue on this site is separate and not part of the app.

Privacy and data

The DiscScout privacy policy lists every service the app uses and what each one receives. Your discs, bags and throws live in iCloud; deleting the app does not delete them, so use iCloud settings if you want them removed.
