Questions

How do I change between feet, metres and yards?

Choose the unit in the app's settings. Chains stores the distance you entered and converts it for display, so a session started in feet can be read in metres without losing anything.

My Watch and iPhone do not show the same history.

Chains syncs through iCloud. Check that both devices use the same Apple Account and that iCloud is on for Chains, then open the app on both with a connection. Watch sessions sync when the Watch is near the phone or on Wi-Fi.

Can I undo a round in JYLY?

Yes. Undo removes the last round and reopens the game, including a game that had just finished. The score and the next distance are recalculated from the rounds that remain.

What counts as Circle 1 and Circle 2?

Circle 1 is within 10 m (33 ft) of the basket and Circle 2 within 20 m (66 ft). A distance exactly on the line belongs to the inner circle. Chains uses these cut-offs when you filter statistics, and shows make rates at each distance as well.

Does Chains have a Long mode for JYLY?

No. Chains plays the standard game from 5 to 10 m. The website offers Long mode as a clearly labelled web-only variant of the original game.

Where is my data kept?

In iCloud, in the app's private database, and on the devices themselves. There is no Chains account. The privacy policy has the details.

Practise without the app

If you want to see the game first, play JYLY in the browser or print a scorecard. Both use the same rules; neither needs an account.
